POST-SURGICAL CARE
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER
CATARACT SURGERY
POSTERIOR CAPSULOTOMY

Post-Op Care With The Team Optometrists

For most patients who have completed cataractsurgery, postoperative visits are needed one dayand approximately one week postoperatively. Inaddition to monitoring your recovery from thesurgery itself, an important aspect of your postoperative recovery is the prescription ofglasses, when needed. Most patients will need
glasses part time for reading, most commonly, and sometimes for driving, television, and similar activities. Because of the microsurgical technique employed by Dr. Steinert, you will usually have stable vision by your second appointment.

For your convenience, therefore, you are seen by one of the team optometrists at these visits. The optometrist will check your vision and will prescribe temporary or permanent glasses or contact lenses, as you wish, to speed your recovery to full activity.
